Your Here

You are here and everything went so well.  Last Thursday I went to my routine 36 week appointment, only you were 36 weeks and 4 days.  When we got there we asked for the doctor to check me to see if I was dilating.  Of course as I thought I was at a 3 and about 50% efface.  I made an appointment for a week from the next Monday only because I really wanted to see Dr. Baker and he was suppose to be out of town the whole next week.  The receptionist said that he might be doing surgeries on Thursday morning and to call and find out if I was to see another Dr and was dilated more weather Dr. Baker would still deliver me.  I called and they said he would if I was dilated.  On Sunday after church I started to have Braxton hicks consisted, and since I knew I was already dilating, after about 4 hours of it we came to the hospital.  They checked me and I was at a 5 but did not progress, so they sent me home.  I was glad because I was trying to make it till Thursday.  That whole week I laid in bed not having much contractions, if I did they always went away.  On Wednesday though around 1 I started to have contractions not painful but they were every 2-4 minutes.  Around 7 they started to become painful so we went to the hospital.  I was so upset because all I had to do was wait until the next day to see my doctor.  At the hospital I was still and 5 but started to have stronger contractions.  They kept me there for 5 hours and then sent me home because I hadn't progressed.  The next morning, I got up cleaned the house and did laundry.  I was getting everything ready in case I had you.  I was able to talk to a very  nice receptionist who was able to triple book Dr. Baker so I could see him.  My appointment was at 2:30 p.m.  I sent the kids to Grandma Munns and went to my appointment.  Dad didn't come with me this time because he was sick of coming to IF only to be sent home.  When I got into see the Dr he laughed and told me I was 7 to 8 centimeters dilated.  We wanted to go check my strep B results and come back and talk to me.  He said that he would be comfortable delivering me even though you were only 37 weeks and 4 days along, not considered full term.  He told me to go up to the hospital and he would come up in an hour and brake my water.  I called Dad and over 2 hours later he showed up.  In the mean time I got hooked up, giving an IV and started on my epidural.  We had a scare when they did my Epidural.  They didn't get a full bag of water through me and I started to get light headed and dizzy.  Then the Anesthesiologist said that I was looking pale.  I felt sick to my stomach and like I couldn't get my breath.  I started to sweat and just really felt like something was really wrong.  The anesthesiologist gave me something in my IV and I stared to feel better, but made you heartbeat go up to over 200.  They said it was from the epinephrine they put in my IV and as long as you were moving, (which you were, ALOT you were fine).  I found out later how serious the situation was but the nurse and anesthesiologist really remained calm.  My blood pressure dropped to 50 over 30 and my heart rate went up to 136.  Everything was turned out fine except I felt lightheaded the rest of the time.

Then around 5:20 the Dr came up and broke my water, about 10 minutes after Dad got there.  I was still dilated to a 8 at that time.  Then around 6:15 he came back in and said I was almost there, that we would start pushing in about 20 mins.  When he came in again he said he could feel your head.  I pushed through 3 contractions and you were here.  You were so little looking to me and so cute.  They let me hold you for a long time, you cried but where so cute.  You kind of looked like Colton to me at that time, but later I thought you had your own little look.  The weighed you and to my surprise you were 7 lbs 10 oz.  Bryce took a picture of you on the scale and it said that you weighed 7 lbs 8 oz but the nurse insisted you were 7 lbs 10 oz.  You were 20 inches long and born at 6:43 p.m.  Only 4 hours after I walked into my Dr appointment.  I was so glad you were here, healthy and that Dr Baker was able to deliver you.

You are such a good baby so far, please stay that way.  You brother and sister just love you and want to be around you all the time.  They saw you that first night and then came the next day and spent the afternoon with you.  We think that you name is going to be Cater Vernon Munns.  All you do is sleep and eat and poop.  When you are hungry you dont even really cry just smack your lips.  At least here in the hospital you did.  The first night you didn't really cry just whined all night, and then when I would hold you you were fine, but I couldn't sleep for worry I would drop you.  You love to snuggle and are love to just look around.  I am so in love with you and hope you stay sweet.  We are so glad you are here and mommy doesn't want you to grow up.
